AITPM 2020 Online Conference Series

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, the 2020 AITPM National Conference in Brisbane has been postponed, with an online conference running in its place over July and August.

This digital event includes a series of national webinars and interactive Q&A sessions, allowing the audience to engage with presenters via an online platform.

On Friday 20th of August, GTA Transport Modeller Josh Kamil will present at the Live Q&A to discuss his paper on using microsimulation modelling to assess performance and capacity of cycling infrastructure. Josh will also describe how microsimulation models create an opportunity to explore risks to cyclists and pedestrians by simulating the complex interactions in both on and off-road environments.

By testing two key cycle corridors in the City of Melbourne, Josh’s paper examines how interactions with cars and pedestrians influence the capacity of bicycle lanes and shared paths respectively. The paper also explores the suitability and limitations of microsimulation for this purpose.

GTA has long been a sponsor of the AITPM National Conferences and is proud to be able to continue our support in 2020 and recognise our practitioners who are presenting at the online event.
