Alongside GTA’s city-shaping projects, the practice is continuing its work in regional areas, including several projects in Phillip Island (VIC). Within the framework of the Cowes Revitalisation Project GTA has worked closely with Bass Coast Shire Council on the following four key projects:
- Cowes Revitalisation Transport Impact Assessment (view)
- Jetty Triangle and Piazza Redevelopment
- Cowes Cultural and Community Centre
- Transit Centre and All-Day Carpark
Separate to the Cowes Revitalisation Project, GTA has also been involved with the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre Development. The proposal seeks to restore 6.7ha of habitat to the penguin colony and provide an enhanced experience for visitors at the Penguin Parade, one of Phillip Island's major tourist attractions.
All projects are designed to have a significant impact on Cowes and Phillip Island by improving town centre connectivity, revitalising town facilities and increasing visitor attraction.
GTA’s collaboration on this project is part of a commitment to work across urban and regional geographies to deliver transport outcomes that work. The practice is proud to partner with diverse clients and we are excited to see the growth of Phillip Island through this Revitalisation Project.
