MGallery at Chadstone Shopping Centre 

Chadstone Shopping Centre will welcome a new hotel to its evolving retail precinct. Located on Princes Highway, between David Jones and the Chadstone Tower One, the 250-room five star hotel will complement the recently expanded centre as well as the nearby Monash National Employment and Innovation Cluster which employs over 75,000 people. The centre now houses 17 national and international commercial offices.

As a key part of Chadstone’s evolution, the hotel will strengthen the centre’s offering as a recognised best-in-classs shopping, entertainment and tourism destination. Following the latest $600 million expansion, which completed in 2017, Chadstone is the largest shopping centre in Australia and a key landmark in Melbourne’s south-east.

GTA’s long-standing relationship with Vicinity Centres has seen the firm advise on a full range of transport planning matters for over five years, including the most recent expansion. GTA has worked with Vicinity Centres and Project Architect, Bates Smart, to progress the application through the various planning gates and detail the integration of the hotel onto a pre-constructed basement car park within a constrained site.

As part of assisting Vicinity Centres to deliver the hotel, GTA has completed a transport impact assessment, appeared at VCAT, negotiated with transport stakeholders and also prepared a green travel plan.
