Queens Place

GTA was commissioned by 3L Alliance in February 2015, to prepare a Master Plan and parallel Stage 1 town planning application for the Queens Place development at 350 Queens St, Melbourne. GTA’s transport advice providing key inputs into the staging of the development and ensured at all times both towers and associated podium levels could be serviced independently.

Key to the Master Plan was assessing:

  • the integration with the existing at grade environment with a focus on walking and cycling;
  • the suitability of the proposed bicycle and car parking provision in terms of supply and layout;
  • providing a functional loading facility for various tenants and residents in line with the City’s guidelines; and
  • the acceptability of the traffic impacts of the proposed development, including the appropriateness of the vehicular access arrangements.

The proposal includes the construction of two new 79-level towers comprising residential dwellings and serviced apartments, and a five level podium comprising offices, retail uses, a gym, a crèche and a supermarket.

Currently, the site accommodates a standalone 20 storey commercial tower which is to be retained, as well as various detached retail assets, and a commercial car park facility. A permit exists for a 171 space commercial car park on-site.

The development was given approval to move forward in March 2016
