From Saturday October 19, additional bus services began operating between Oakleigh Station and Chadstone Shopping Centre as part of a trial that will run
until January 2020.
On behalf of Vicinity Centres, GTA collaborated with the Department of Transport to plan the new bus services that will deliver improved public transport options for the community to and from Chadstone. The service will be a truly viable alternative to private vehicle use, particularly over the busy summer holiday period and in particular on boxing day when 400 additional services will be provided.
The service is designed as turn up and go, with such frequency that patrons will not need a timetable to plan their trip. It builds upon the number of public transport options servicing both Oakleigh Station and Chadstone and provides greater access to the activity centre in Melbourne’s south-east.
GTA’s involvement in the initiative continues our relationship with the Department of Transport and Vicinity Centres, ensuring that both partners achieve the best outcome from this opportunity to connect communities with improved public transport services.
